The city of Chino offers open spaces, a high standard of living, a variety of recreation activities and excellent schools. Situated in San Bernardino County, Chino is located in a lush valley below the San Gabriel Mountains. Continued controlled growth from a farming community to a thriving city gives residents a strong sense of pride in their hometown. Chino is a growing city, with the newest development at The Preserve, where 2,500 acres of farm land will be converted into residential, commercial, and industrial entities. Another 2,500 acres will remain open for recreational and agricultural use. Chino residents have easy access to area freeways making San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, and Orange counties easily reachable.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Chino. Residents can attend the local farmer’s market, which offers fresh produce, crafts and live entertainment from May through September. Excellent shopping can be found at Chino Spectrum, with over 110 retailers, eateries and restaurants in a distinctive outdoor setting. For outdoor recreation, the city includes a number of parks that include athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, and basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. Two recreation centers that offer classes, programs and other activities are also provided to residents by the city. Nearby Chino Hills State Park features trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding. Residents can drive an hour east to ski in Big Bear Mountain Resort, Wrightwood and Mt. Baldy; an hour west is the Pacific Ocean. In terms of education, students are under the jurisdiction of Chino Valley Unified School District. Twenty-one private and public colleges and universities are located within 30 miles of Chino.
