Chino

Incorporated in 1910, Chino’s rich agricultural history dates back to the Spanish land grant forming Rancho Santa Ana del Chino. The area specialized in orchards and row crops and was once the number one dairy area in the United States. While the City’s motto “Where Everything Grows” was originally focused on agriculture, today it applies to growth in families, businesses and the strong sense of community shared by our residents.

Chino’s Community Services Department is accommodating the city’s growing population by providing a high level of service that is unsurpassed in the Inland Empire. The department provides low-cost quality programs and services including recreation classes and trips, youth and senior programs, and counseling services. Chino boasts over 260 acres of open space, various parks and approximately 20 miles of bike trails.

Chino’s full service Community-Oriented Police Department has made a connection with the growing community through its pro-active problem solving and community partnerships. This policing philosophy is allowing the entire community to participate in the process of ensuring that Chino remains a safe and special place to live, work and visit.

The City’s mission statement is, “Together We Take Pride in Providing Quality, Caring Service to Our Community.” Chino’s dedication to that mission has resulted in increased efficiency at City Hall as Chino’s staff maintains their commitment to excellence in customer service. As the city looks to the future, Chino will strive to maintain its cultural heritage and hometown ideals while preparing for the challenges that will be encountered in the new millennium.
