Chino is a growing city with the newest development at The Preserve where 2,500 acres of farm land will be converted into residential, commercial, and industrial entities. Another 2,500 acres will remain open for recreational and agricultural use. Chino residents have easy access to area freeways making San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, and Orange counties highly accessible.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Chino. Residents can attend the local farmer's market, which offers fresh produce, crafts and live entertainment from May through September. Chino Spectrum offers excellent shopping with over 110 retailers, eateries and restaurants in a distinctive outdoor setting. For outdoor recreation, the city includes a number of parks that feature athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, and basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. The city also provides two recreational centres that offer classes, programs and other activities.

Nearby Chino Hills State Park features trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding. Residents can drive an hour east to ski in Big Bear Mountain Resort, Wrightwood and Mt. Baldy; an hour west is the Pacific Ocean. In terms of education, students are under the jurisdiction of Chino Valley Unified School District. Twenty-one private and public colleges and universities are located within 30 miles of Chino.
